UPCOMING SEMINAR: The Wife's Compass (See here)
The Wife's Compass
A marriage seminar for women
07 December, 2025 | 10am - 4pm | Registration Now Open
Marriage Through Faith and Evidence
This is not your typical premarital course or casual marriage advice session only for women who are married or looking to get married.
This is a focused, deep exploration of key aspects of Islamic marital law — topics often left unspoken, misunderstood, or simplified in larger or co-gender programs and spaces.
In an all-female environment, our team of female scholars at Katiba Collective engages with complex rulings and Qur’anic guidance through the lens of both Islamic scholarship and contemporary science, enriched with real statistics and research to deepen our understanding of marriage as a sacred partnership.
What You’ll Gain
✔ Islamic Law with Clarity: Understand the wisdom, purpose, and nuances behind core Islamic marital rulings.
✔ Evidence-Based Insight: Discover how scientific research, statistics, and human biology intersect with Islamic principles on relationships.
✔ Safe Space to Ask: Bring your questions — even the challenging or sensitive ones — and explore them with respect, guidance, and authenticity.
Seminar Sessions Include
The Sacred Intimacy
Exploring the spiritual, emotional, and legal dimensions of intimacy in marriage — what Islamic teaching truly conveys beyond cultural taboos and misconceptions.
The Science of Difference
Examining how biological, chemical, and psychological distinctions between men and women shape attraction, conflict, and connection — and how revelation guides us toward balance and harmony.
Rights, Responsibilities, and Realities
Looking beyond surface-level claims to uncover the nuanced interplay of justice, mercy, and partnership within Islamic marital law.
Modern Pressures, Faithful Responses
Addressing contemporary challenges within relationships through the timeless principles of faith and the latest research in human behaviour.
When Separation Becomes Mercy
A grounded study of Islamic divorce, and how it contrasts with Australian legal processes, including guidance on crafting marriage contracts that protect women’s rights and safety.
What This Event Is Not
This is not counseling. It is not a premarital “how-to” class. It is a rare chance to engage deeply with the fiqh and wisdom of marriage through an academic and evidence-informed lens.
Come Ready to Learn and Inquire
Whether you’re seeking clarity, curious about misunderstood verses, or wanting a deeper understanding of marriage in an Islamic framework, this seminar provides a space for reflection, knowledge, and discovery.
